Snow Globe Dream
A poem
Someone shook my globe last night
out my door, it is all white
Grabbing boots and coat I go
out for a magical, frozen stroll
Puffs of down drift from the sky
filling low spots and piling high
Painting white in every direction
Erasing all darkness and leaving perfection
On top of the hill, sledders meet
rosy faces and booted feet
Toboggans, flyers, tubes, and discs
making jumps and taking risks
Down the sidewalk, couples mosey
heading back home to snuggle up cozy
And I return by myself, alone
seemingly frozen to the bone
I take one last glance and this magical scene
that came to me like a beautiful dream
My house before me, like a frosted cake
inviting rest, which I’m ready to take
Someone shook my globe last night
out my door, it is all white
